Leena R. did her schooling in Kendriya Vidyalaya. She studied B.Sc. Chemistry (1999-2002) and M.Sc. Chemistry (2002-2004) at Sree Neelakanta Government Sanskrit College, Pattambi. She did her Ph.D. (2007-2013) at Cochin University of Science and Technology. Subsequently, she joined Rubber Research Institute of India, Kottayam as Scientific Assistant and later moved to Baselius College, Kottayam as Assistant Professor. She was selected for FLAIR (Fostering Linkages in Academic Innovation and Research) and completed the national internship at IIT Madras in 2015 and international internship at University of Southampton, United Kingdom in 2016. Since August 2017, Leena R. has been working as Assistant Professor at the Cochin University of Science and Technology. Her research area comprises of chemical modification of electrodes for sensing applications and luminescent materials particularly porphyrins for molecular recognition.
